How We Work
Each of our projects although different in detail and style follows the same tried and tested process. Every step is carefully managed to ensure you are happy with the design and aware of what will happen at each stage.
We start with getting to know you and discussing the dreams you have for your new kitchen.
We ask lots of questions about how you will to use the kitchen. Will you be entertaining? Is it going to be a family space? How many people cook? Everyone has an individual desire from their kitchen, and we take this into account. We often look around your current kitchen so we understand what works for you.
We will want to really understand the space and the light, these factors make a huge difference! It is important to get a feel for the architecture and how your kitchen connects to the rest of your home and your garden. We will discuss building changes if any are necessary, and how to plan the space and make alterations.
We then present our notes as a client brief for you to approve, before we move on to the design stage.
The first stage of our design process is to create a concept design. Working from your brief and a site survey we will develop this initial design, based on the measurements we take on site and our impression of the space. The concept design will include the shape and outline of the kitchen, bringing in the functionality of the space and how it will flow.
We combine the utility of the space with the style and feel that you want from your new kitchen. Our design is tailored to your agreed budget, and takes into account all of the specific requirements you have requested. Our process will ensure that your new kitchen is personal to you, creating a great looking space that is practical to live and work in.
We then present you with this concept design. The presentation includes high quality images and 3D rendering, which display the layout of cabinets, appliances and worktops. This will bring the design to life showing colours and finishes of the kitchen giving you a visual glimpse of what the space can be. Drawings and a floor plan are also included.
Images, diagrams and samples will be used to take you through why we have suggested what we have in our design, and show you how it will optimise the space to meet your desires. We can recommend and advise on flooring, lighting, and the full interior design if required.
Once this concept stage is complete, we then work to complete the full design. This includes a detailed specification and a full set of drawings.
This is where the careful planning starts. This involves checking measurements, ordering materials and overseeing the scheduling of builders, installers, craftsmen, and decorators, to ensure everything runs smoothly.
A thorough pre-fit survey of your kitchen will be drawn up to ensure we haven’t missed any key issues. Some details may change after this stage, but it is the hard work that goes into this pre-build stage that will make all the difference to the smooth installation of your new kitchen.
We will provide you with a project plan and an itinerary so you are aware of what will be happening and when. Now the planning is complete we can move on to making it a reality!
This is the most exciting stage, as all of your ideas come together and you can see your new kitchen take shape before your eyes. If we are removing your old kitchen or there are any building works to be carried out this can begin as a messy phase, but our experience keeps the disruption to a minimum.
Builders, plumbers and electricians work hard to prepare the space, so we can begin transforming it into your vision.
Because of the extensive planning and designing we have done together, the installation will be smooth and efficient. Once it is complete we will carefully inspect the space and make any final adjustments that may be necessary. Your new kitchen is now ready for you to use!
Finally, we provide a completion pack tailored to your new kitchen. This includes the instructions for appliances and all necessary warranty information. A cleaning guide for the kitchen is also included, where we use our specialist knowledge to give the best advice on how to ensure your new kitchen stays at its best.
We will visit 4-6 weeks after completion and during this visit any queries you might have will be answered, now that you are adjusted and comfortable in the new space. Of course, if you have any more questions at a later date we are just a phone call away. All that is left to do now is enjoy your new kitchen.
